Currently a correspondent for the BBC's Health team, Anna has played a
Anna played a key role in exposing the surgical mesh scandal and was asked to share her work with Baroness Cumberlege, who was carrying out a highly influential, government backed review into the issue along with two other female health scandals. When the long-awaited report was released, Anna had interviewed many of the victims affected by the three medical interventions. Her reports were shown across the BBC, including a 15 minute film which she presented.

Until March 2020, Anna worked as a reporter for the Bafta award-winning Victoria Derbyshire programme on BBC Two. She covered a wide range of stories which have been viewed by millions and held those in power to account. This includes providing in-depth coverage of the first person to be convicted of Female Genital Mutilation in the UK, including meeting the perpetrator.

​Before moving into national TV, Anna spent three years at BBC Radio 1's Newsbeat where she regularly presented the daily news programme. She also co-hosted a special programme about young people's online pornography use with Eddie Mair which was aired across BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra and Radio 4.
During her time at Newsbeat, Anna focused particularly on issues affecting young people's mental health, including bereavement, anorexia and self-harm. Along with winning a prestigious ARIA for a podcast about teen suicide, Anna was also a runner-up for Mind Journalist of the Year and runner-up for the Press Gazette's New Journalist of the Year in 2016.

Anna started her journalism career in the North East of England - where she grew up. She worked as a reporter and newsreader at Real Radio North East and was part of the Sony Gold award winning team for their coverage of the hunt for Tyneside gunman Raoul Moat. She was also recognised by the New York Festival Awards for a short documentary she made about a woman who had locked-in syndrome.
